ALINA POGHOSYAN

Alina Poghosyan is a writer whose path to fiction began with a distinguished career in academia and public policy. For over 25 years, she devoted herself to researching migration in the post-Soviet space and advising on migration policy — work that shaped a deep understanding of displacement, identity, and belonging. It is from this rich intellectual foundation that she has turned to literature, bringing the insight of a scholar to the craft of storytelling.

Her debut novel, Wearing Bunny Heads (2025), was met with warm acclaim from both readers and fellow writers. Concurrently with its publication, her short story “So Cute” appeared in Granish, a prominent Armenian literary journal, where it received three of the journal’s awards: first place in the Most Popular Short Story category, second place for Best Short Story, and the Discovery of the Year distinction.

Alina Poghosyan is currently at work on her second novel.
