HAYK HOVYAN

Hayk Hovyan is a fiction writer and animator. He studied geography at Yerevan State University and hold a master’s degree. Hovyan is a director of photography and a filmmaker specializing in animation for children and adolescents. He is the author of the fantasy book series Chronicles of Citadel. The first book of the series The Ravenstone, The Beginning was published in 2021. The second book of the series came out in 2024 and is entitled Gisane. The Eternal Empire. His writings are deeply influenced by his professional experience in the field of visual storytelling and represent many elements of Armenian mythology and ancient stories. Hovyan also has a series of short stories under the title Yerevan Noir, published at Granish and Inknagir online literary magazines.

Hayk is also a recipient of the annual literary award from the “Granish” literary community in the category of “Best Prose” in both 2023 and 2024. Currently, he is working as an animator on several international projects and writes a new novel in the series.
