Within the framework of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair, Armenian author Lusine Kharatyan visited Greece on the occasion of the presentation of the Greek edition of her novel Syrian Affair (translated by Shushan Marouki and published by Vakxikon Publications).

In addition to taking part in the presentation of the Greek edition, Lusine Kharatyan also participated, as an EUPL shortlisted author, in the panel discussion Small Languages – Great Literatures: European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) Event.

The event focused on the importance of translated literature in bringing diverse European voices to international readers and highlighted the role of the European Union Prize for Literature in promoting contemporary literature across borders since 2009.

The discussion was coordinated by Anne Bergman-Tahon, Director of the Federation of European Publishers, and featured authors Makis Malafekas (Greece, EUPL Shortlist 2025) and Lusine Kharatyan (Armenia, EUPL Shortlist 2023).

The panel was organized by the European Union Prize for Literature and Vakxikon Publications and took place on May 9, 2026, at the Dialogue Hall of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair.
