SHELTER BY JEAN-CHAT TEKGYOZYAN

Shelter is a psychological detective story set in the heart of Europe – Strasburg, France. The protagonist, 21-year-old Cyrano half Alsatian half Mauritanian, is moving out from his parent’s apartment to be away from the complicated family issues. The social worker offers him to share an apartment with a woman named Marie-Eugen Noel. But in months Cyrano doesn’t happen to meet her in person. It might seem at times that she is an imaginary character, but there are physical proofs of her existence in the apartment. Cyrano starts his investigation about the “mysterious” woman. He walks through the path of Marie-Eugene and while finding out that she is a refugee, Cyrano discovers the issues of the lives of migrants sheltered in the country, a previously unknown side of life in France. Cyrano realizes how similar their feelings are to his own inner world, he feels himself a refugee among the native French including his family. He discovers the new face of France and Europe.
