On May 17, 2025 in the frames of 100+10 festival of Armenian culture an event was organized. Flag is the first part of Armen Ohanyan’s Mommyland trilogy – a poetic and political reflection on queer identity and national symbols in contemporary Armenia. Ohanyan discusses his work with author Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç, known for his political essays and poetry. Armen Ohanyan read from his book and screened a video installation.

The first novel of Mommyland trilogy is written in a mix of styles including prose, play and script. Using national symbols, the author attempts to present the current Armenian political and social realities and the life of LGBT communities within a traditional society where, being a homosexual is opposed to being a patriot, free life is opposed to morality and the majority of the population is not ready to openly accept LGBT as equal members of the society.
