ARI LITERARY AND TALENT AGENCY AT THE INTERNATIONAL FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2024

Arevik Ashkharoyan, literary agent and founder of ARI Literary Agency along with Anna Baghramyan, literary agent and rights manager of ARI Literary Agency were present at Frankfurt Book Fair having meetings with international publishers, agents, establishing new cooperation projects and bringing the latest highlights of world literature pieces to present at the Armenian book market.

On October 16th organizers and participants of Special Program for publishers from Ukraine and neighboring countries funded by the foreign office of Germany were hosted at the Armenian pavilion. Arevik and Anna presented to the guests the activities of the agency, the overall view of the publishing field in Armenia, tendencies in modern Armenian literature.

On October 17th agency authors, 2021 EUPL winner Aram Pachyan (P/F) and 2023 shortlisted Lusine Kharatyan (The Syrian Affair) were also featured at the Frankfurt Buchmesse. A beautiful event was organized at the Armenian National pavilion at the bookfair. Foreign publishers, agents and visitors of the fair were welcomed with a glass of Armenian cognac and national sweets, getting themselves acquainted with the brochures including extracts from the novels of the above-mentioned authors. Among the publishers were those who had already published the novel P/F and some had recently licensed the translation rights.

On October 18th, 2024, organized by ARI Literature Foundation in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung South Caucasus and supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport a panel discussion entitled Looking for a place – Armenian Literature in Europe took place at the Frankfurt Studio stage in the frames of the fair.

The speakers of the panel were writers of ARI Literary Agency Anoush Kocharyan, Aram Pachyan, Sargis Hovsepyan and literary critic Tigran Amiryan. The panel was moderated by Jürgen Jakob Becker, Deputy Managing Director, curator of literary program at Literarische Colloquium Berlin in which Aoush Kocharyan took part earlier this year.
