ARI LITERARY AND TALENT AGENCY AT THE INTERNATIONAL FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR 2023

2023 International Frankfurt Book Fair was full of events dedicated to ARI Literary and Talent Agency writers and events that ARI staff participated in.

 

We are proud to say that the presentation of the German translation of renowned Armenian writer Susanna Harutyunyan’s novel Ravens Before Noah was held at the at the German publishers’ collective stand by the publisher Akademische Verlagsbuchhandlung Friedrich Mauke. Both the author and the translator Susanna Yeghoyan were present at the presentation, during which extracts from the novel were read in the original language and German translation. Susanna Harutyunyan answered the questions raised by the audience and the publisher himself and signed the copies of her books for the readers.

An event dedicated to Lusine Kharatyan’s novel A Syrian Affair shortlisted for European Prize for Literature Award was organized at the Armenian pavilion. Among the guests at the reception were publishers, writers, journalist and other representatives of the field. Many publishers expressed their interest in the novel A Syrian Affair and the ARI agents presented the book to them.

On the last day of the fair at St. Paul’s Church the award ceremony of The Prize for Peace by German Book Trade took place and in the series of readings of international authors as a part of the ceremony an extract from Aram Pachyan’s P/F in German was read. The German edition of the book was published recently by Kolchis, Switzerland. This is one of the most prestigious ceremonies taking place in the framework of Frankfurt Book Fair. This year the Prize was awarded to an outstanding Indian born British-American novelist Salman Rushdie.

Arevik Ashkharoyan, literary agent and founder of ARI Literary Agency was present at Frankfurt Book Fair having meetings with international publishers, agents and established new cooperations and relations with old and new partners. The results of the meetings will soon be published.

Anna Baghramyan, literary agent, and foreign rights manager of ARI Literary Agency was present at the International Frankfurt Bookfair in the frames of a Special Program for publishers from Ukraine and neighboring countries funded by the foreign office of Germany. The program included seminars on publishing, market research, foreign rights policies, and interactive meetings with professionals in the field, visits to different national stands.
